32 Score/Seven21 Media Center named Small Business of the Year 2021 – Daily Freeman
KINGSTON, NY — 32 Partition/Seven21 Media Center has been named the 2021 Small Business of the Year by the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce.
Local businesses, business leaders and organizations across Ulster County will be honored this week at a recognition dinner on Thursday 21 October.
Other winners include: Kingston’s Howmet Fastening Systems as Company of the Year; Renae Martin of Lilly Rae in the Hamlet as Business Person of the Year; Courtyard by Marriott Kingston as Hotel Company of the Year; the Boys and Girls Club of Ulster County for the Commitment to the Community award; J & J SassElectric for the Heritage Award; and Stephen Kennedy of Turn Up the Beer for Emerging Young Leader. Additionally, the Len Cane Heart of Ulster County award will be presented posthumously to Tommy Keegan of Keegan Ales.

Seven21 Media Center has been at the forefront of Midtown Kingston’s revitalization since 2006, but at the height of the pandemic, owners Jeremy and Dara Ellenbogen “showed an exemplary level of leadership and community engagement” . according to a statement from the chamber. The company has served as a hub for many organizations providing technology services and expertise for Ulster County Government, Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation, Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce, Mohonk Preserve, New York Medical College, Access: Supports for Living and Suite. Most of the work was done on a voluntary basis.
Additionally, in January 2021, the Ellenbogens purchased an abandoned 1890 church at 32 Partition St. in Saugerties and turned it into a state-of-the-art business center, according to the statement.
In its early days, Seven21 had a staff of three, according to the information provided. It now has ten employees.
The dinner will celebrate the achievements and successes of the winners in improving the local economy and the region’s quality of life, according to chamber information.
