Baku Media Center honors martyrs of Patriotic War [VIDEO]

The Baku Media Center shot a clip in honor of the martyrs of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, who gave their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

The musical piece “Eternal Peak” (Vechnaya Vershina) is composed by Tural Mammadli. The song is performed by honored artist Aygun Baylar.

A clip was shot with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. It will soon be presented to the public.

Almost 2,783 Azerbaijani military personnel lost their lives in the 44-day war. Among them, 103 soldiers have not yet been identified. More than a hundred soldiers are missing, while 1,245 are treated in hospitals.

Clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan resumed after Armenia launched large-scale attacks against Azerbaijani forces and civilians on September 27. Five Azerbaijani civilians were killed on the first day of the Armenian attacks. More than 90 Azerbaijani civilians were killed in indiscriminate attacks by Armenians against Azerbaijani civilians. Azerbaijan launched counter-offensive operations which resulted in the liberation of more than 300 settlements and villages. Azerbaijan also liberated five city centers and the historic city of Shusha which was liberated on November 8.

The 44-day war ended with the Russian-negotiated peace accord signed on November 10 by the Azerbaijani, Russian and Armenian leaders. Under the peace agreement, the Azerbaijani regions of Kalbajar, Aghdam and Lachin were liberated by the Armenians on December 1. .

The peace agreement ended the 30-year-old conflict between Baku and Yerevan over the Azerbaijani region of Nagorno-Karabakh which, along with the seven adjacent districts, was occupied by the Armenian armed forces during the war of the early 2000s. 1990s. For about three decades, Armenia failed to implement UN Security Council resolutions demanding the withdrawal of Armenian troops, which was the main obstacle to resolving the conflict.
