Bruce Jenket: Legacy Media Isn’t Interested in Truth | Letters to the Editor
Are you getting the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth from your “news” outlet? Today, practically all the media choose their “camp”. Unbiased research and opinions are no longer practiced. Yes, this also includes right-wing media, but in comparison, the amount of misinformation coming from the left is exponentially higher. The collusion with Russia never happened, but it made headlines for four years. Now that John Durham has identified and charged those responsible, the same media is censoring stories providing this fact.
Another major lie uttered by the left is that electoral fraud did not take place. It made. Maybe not enough to cancel the 2020 election, but it happened. I wrote several letters in The Laconia Daily Sun with facts if anyone would take the time to read the links.
Painting the Jan. 6 riot as an “insurrection” is another exaggeration used to distract from electoral fraud and the growing failures of the current administration. It is said to be the largest FBI investigation in US history. Whether that’s true or not doesn’t matter. What’s true is that it received more coverage than any other newsworthy story in 2021.
So what other news in 2021 should have been covered so closely? What about the failed withdrawal from Afghanistan? How many Americans have been left behind? Do viewers of CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, etc. know or care? Likewise, do the same viewers know that there are still 80 billion dollars worth of weapons in Afghanistan? For one perspective, that’s enough money to run New Hampshire’s state government for 12 years. Finally, does anyone care that we now have another country with a dictator in charge who kills his own citizens? Apparently ignorance is bliss.
And our southern border? Does anyone know how many illegal crossings occurred in 2021? The answer is just over 2 million. Again, putting that into perspective, that’s the population of NH and Vermont combined. Where are they going? None have jobs, so how will they pay for housing, food, health care, etc. ? If 10% are children who will pay for their education? It costs an average of $15,000 per year to educate each student. Simple calculations indicate that $15,000 x 200,000 students will cost $3 billion per year. You do the math on what it will cost to house, feed and provide health care to 2,000,000 immigrants. Again, legacy media are guilty of “omission”.
Trying to debate with a viewer from CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, etc. on today’s critical issues is like debating quantum mechanics with a child. They’re convinced they know it all because they’ve watched every Marvel movie. When facts that contradict their “beliefs” are presented, they deny or ignore them. Why?
I will end with a quote from Galileo “All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; it is a question of discovering them. The truth is that the legacy media is not interested in “truth” and unity will only return when this fact is “discovered”.
