The Kona has been a success story for Hyundai since its global introduction in 2017, and in South Africa nearly 1,700 units of this crossover SUV model have been sold since its local introduction in 2018. With the latest product enhancement, the Kona will be available. for the first time in an N Line version, combining driving pleasure and excitement. The Kona N line stands out with its sporty front and rear sections, body-color coatings and the specific design of its diamond-cut wheels. The fresh design, including the all-new N Line sport trim, offers a dynamic new appearance. The security suite has also been enhanced with new active and passive security features available.

Stylish design improvements

Design updates at the front and rear give the new Kona a more sleek and sophisticated look, which adds to the bold and progressive design of the model launched in 2018.

The striking new design of the front panel is distinguished by its sporty look and eye-catching protective cover panels. At the top, the stretched hood ends neatly on the center grille with a distinctive wide shape giving the Kona a powerful look.

At the rear, the new taillights feature horizontally stretched graphics. These reflect the unique identity of the frontal light signature. The new rear bumper, which also follows the concept of protective armor from the front and sides, is also constructed with contrasting material.

Interior design updates

The interior of the new Kona has been designed to express a more sophisticated and progressive appearance. A rugged yet refined look matches the bold exterior, appealing to clients with an active lifestyle. A new console is disconnected from the dashboard to emphasize the horizontal layout, appearing wide for a spacious atmosphere.

An electronic parking brake is now available in the N Line variant as a standard convenience device. The Kona’s rear cargo space has been increased and second-row legroom has also been improved, along with access to the USB port for second-row passengers.

The 2.0 Executive and 1.6 T-GDi variants come standard with artificial leather seat upholstery, while the 1.6 T-GDi N Line has full leather seats with red N Line piping and stitching.

Stay connected

Several new convenience features allow for a more comfortable ride, including a second-row USB port for rear passengers. The new Kona has also been upgraded with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, which means customers no longer need to use a cable to connect their phone to the 8-inch screen infotainment system. A wireless mobile phone charger in the center console is also standard across the range. Rear passengers can charge their cell phones from a USB cable port in a center console, with a place to store the phone.

Advanced safety and driving assistance

The new Kona N Line has been equipped with a range of Hyundai SmartSense safety and driver assistance features for added peace of mind. They include: intelligent cruise control, blind spot collision, lane keeping assist, rear and front cross collision avoidance assist and fatigue detection, – monitors and analyzes habits driver and signals an audible alert and visual message on the instrument panel if it detects driver fatigue.

New powertrain

The new Kona’s powertrain lineup reaches new heights in performance. At the top of the range is an upgraded Smartstream G1.6 T-GDi engine, paired with a seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), which brings a maximum power of 146 kW and a maximum torque of 265 Nm. can be found in the 1.6 T-GDi Executive and 1.6 T-GDi N-Line derivatives.
