LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – October 2, 2020): Information and Culture Secretary Raja Jahangir Anwar said on Friday that the press registrar will provide all facilities to print media through a one-stop-shop .
He said this during a meeting with officials from the Pakistan Newspaper Publishers Council (CPNE) regarding the Punjab Press & Publication Act 2020 in the DGPR committee room, a document said.
Managing Director of Public Relations Dr. Muhammad Aslam Dogar, Editor-in-Chief of 92 News Group Irshad Ahmed Arif, Editor-in-Chief of Express Group Ijaz-ul-Haq, Editor-in-Chief of Express Group Ayaz Khan, Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Today Yousaf Nizami, Managing Director of The Daily Times Kazam Khan and The Punjab News Director Javed Younis was also present on the occasion.
Raja Jahangir Anwar informed the delegation that the bill would be presented for cabinet approval after building confidence among stakeholders. He said it would go a long way in resolving issues regarding issuance or change of declaration.
Under this law, the Punjab press court would be affected by the decisions of the registrar or the provincial information department. This tribunal would work under the supervision of a retired district and sessions judge.
Irshad Ahmed Arif and Ijaz ul Haq said written proposals would soon be presented to the government on the new CPNE platform bill.
